Last week was a quieter week and that’s all right! Everyone enjoyed themselves and made the best out of their vacation. Sometimes vacations leave us all tired and sometimes they leave us well rested, this was one of those weeks. We had old friends staying with us this last week and it was refreshing to share stories and talk about last year or even the last eleven years! It's wild how many times some guest come around to visit and spend the week in the mountains, we're grateful for the friendships and relish the adventure of new guests from around the country.
In a time where most people are divided, it's beautiful to get some fresh air and some distance from everything, which somehow manages to bring us all together. Crazy how that works, that getting rid of Wi-Fi, TV, and cell phones for the week actually gives us time with our thoughts, our new friends, and nature. I think we like to think that phones and computers bring us closer to the those around us and to the beauty of the world we live in, but without those it give you more time to appreciate what is right in front of you. A reminder we all need in patience and gratitude, the beauty in silence and the laughter of a new old friend. We had people shooting at the range, getting crafty with our leather works, enjoying swimming at Jake's Lake, fly fishing, and of course getting in all the riding they could! Yet still it managed to be a relaxing and fun week. We danced on Thursday night (my favorite hahah) and watched everyone rope late into the evening (thanks to those new lights I told y'all about!). Oh! I forgot, mutton busting has become a weekly thing now and everyone has been loving it! I'll try to get Christian down there so I can give y'all some photos of it. We've also been keeping up our new tradition of giving out Wrangler Awards and they're a hoot, plus I think it's great to give everyone a tangible piece of a memory and a shout out to the crowds.
I'm late writing this one, for that I am sorry, but sometimes we get without words for a bit. Maybe this is a shorter blog but it by no means diminishes the lasting affect each week has on us, as a group and as individuals.
One family even rebooked for next month and I know I speak for all of us when we say that that makes us proud and that is why we do what we do. To make you and yours excited and happy to be here.
Thanks for letting me give dance lessons, for enjoying conversations under the stars and by the fire, and as always, thanks for being safe and kind.
All my best,
Amber IZ
