Welcome back to BMR

What a strange spring we’ve had! Yet, somehow, we’re back here at Black Mountain Ranch and enjoying our guests and horses. We just finished week one, which should have been week three! It was a small group, which is great for us to get used to all the new protocols we’ve been implementing in our Covid world.

For those of you wandering, and for those of you who don’t know, this is Amber Izdepski! I ran the office and blog last summer and am back at it this summer as well! I know my last name is a mouthful but don’t worry, its phonetic - IZ- dep - SKI.

It’s Saturday here and we’re gearing up to say goodbye to this weeks guests and to say hello to next weeks tomorrow.  This week we hosted the Speck family again, which is always a pleasure. They’ve been coming here for years and we’re not only thankful for it, but we look forward to it! Their daughter Steph is the sweetest and we love to watch her succeed on all her adventures. Thanks, Steph for feeding out new baby goats!

Yep.  You read that right! Baby. Goats. They’re weaned from mom but we still give them two bottles a day to ease their transition into our family. So far they are definitely escape artists. But small enough to pick up still so we just bring them right back home. I’ll try to snag a photo to put here before I post this blog to our website.

Speaking of which, we got a new website! And we got electronic waivers for our horse ranch guests! This is great news for our printer and less time for you with an actual pen in your hand here. Unless your pen happy buying up our BMR gear in the trading post, in which case we’ll definitely have a pen handy.

This last week was crazy weather wise! Sunday, when the guests arrived, it was so windy we served and ate our welcome BBQ dinner inside and then pushed pack camp out a day because we got three inches of SNOW Monday night! Which promptly melted by Tuesday afternoon and temperatures went back up to the 70s with mostly sun all week long.

To Bobby, Eric, Barbara, Dave, Susan, Aangela, Glenn, and Stephanie THANK YOU! For making opening week special and for being open and willing to not only visit with us but grow with us.

Until next time,

Stay safe & happy y’all! Happiness, forgiveness, & love isn’t cancelled and neither are we!

PS: For those who actually read this or read it last year, THANK YOU! And I’m sorry I didn’t post a final blog last summer. I got locked out of the platform and couldn’t get in before I skipped out for the winter hahah don’t hate me.
